“

Kings of Mediocrity”, Pudding Jackson’s first album has been out for about 9 months now. It was incredibly personal and intimate at times. While I am very proud of this collection of songs, for the second album I am trying to move away from personal experiences and focus on my observations and feelings on society and my interactions with the world. My views may be quite different from your own and that’s entirely OK. I think that as a community we need to be able to engage in discussions and be OK with disagreeing with one another at times.
Discussion and active listening is how we will find common ground despite our differences. No one wants homogeny of thought… its unnatural, but we need to find a path towards being able to feel safe in expressing our beliefs and in hearing the beliefs of others.
The material for the new album, “The Garden”, focuses largely on this concept and my feelings on the topic.
The first release, “Saucers” includes the hook “What do you believe… just between you and me”. It is intended to open dialogue about belief and acknowledge that we can still be friends despite different beliefs.
The second single, “Integrity”, is about holding true to your beliefs even when it is difficult… in fact, especially when it is difficult to hold true.
The upcoming release, “New of the World”, is a comment on what is going on in my community and in the world at large. It asks, “If I can see these challenges… why can’t other people?’. This track will be released on 8/22 and I am very encouraged by the initial feedback from listeners of the demo. I hope you will take a listen too.
